About This Product
The Final Fantasy TCG: Opus XXVII Journey of Discovery Booster Box is an official English release factory sealed booster display manufactured and published by Square Enix for the Final Fantasy Trading Card Game. Serving as the landmark twenty-seventh main expansion in the long-running Opus series, Journey of Discovery sets sail into vibrant new territory, formally welcoming characters from Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail into the card game for the very first time alongside an expansive artistic celebration of Final Fantasy VIII. Whether you are assembling a competitive constructed powerhouse or organising high-energy draft play at game night, this display box delivers an exceptional mix of tactical depth and premium foil hits.
On the gameplay front, Journey of Discovery fundamentally rewrites deck building with an innovative overhaul to the Limit Break mechanic. Every single Limit Break card featured in the set is multi-element, handing players unprecedented flexibility to bridge distinct elements together and surprise opponents with explosive plays from the LB deck. Beyond gameplay innovation, Square Enix loaded this expansion with 28 newly illustrated cards dedicated entirely to the beloved cast of FFVIII, alongside original artwork celebrating classic titles such as FFII, FFIII, FFV, FFVI, FFX, FFXII, and Final Fantasy Type-0. Please note that starting with Journey of Discovery, Square Enix has formally retired loose Buy-a-Box promo cards for booster display purchases, packing all the set's greatest collectable value directly inside the booster packs.
