Designer Justin Kemppainen (Imperial Assault) stripped away the bloated setup and miniature clutter typical of the boss-battler genre. You just open the large spiral-bound map book flat on the table, draft your climber and class to build a tailored 20-card deck, and leap straight onto the beast's grid.
The core tension is all about managing your grip and stamina. Every leap, glide, and hammer blow costs energy; run out of cards or get swatted off a precipice, and you'll plummet through the air, scrambling to snag a handhold before hitting the dirt.
